For those of you swayed more by numbers than claims of natural rights, you should know about the Economic Freedom of the World -- a report that shows how economic liberty betters the standard of living for all involved. The report, assembled by dozens of free market think tanks around the world, reaches conclusions that would make John S. Mill and Milton Friedman happy.
To see a visual representation of the report, check out the video below from the the Technology, Entertainment, Design conference (TED), which bills itself as "an invitation-only event where the world's leading thinkers and doers gather to find inspiration."
And in yet another example of the rapid pace of technology diffusion, I just learned that the technology used on the video was recently released by Google. For an example of this, check out Eloquence & Subalternity.

Great video. Fast paced, humerous, interesting, informative, and I love the software.
I want to be invited to TED sometime, even if it is just an excuse to go back to Monterey. Smart people in a beautiful town.
